New Feature for Realm Owners
Filed under: announcements, infinity bound, realms, upgrades — joeyrenee @ 8:29 pm June 15, 2008 |

Realm owners, you can now choose to not receive your nightly statistics. To change this option go to your Chat Preferences. This is locating in the main gateway just under Who’s On. Then you will scroll to the bottom and it will display Realm Stats with yes and no options. Clicking yes will send you realm statistics. Clicking no will disable statistics just to your e-mail.

Take note! By selecting no you will not get -any- realm statistics. This means if you host ROOM A and ROOM B you will get neither of their statistics.

If you have any questions please contact the staff.

I have locked the chat system until I get this fix put into place.  Because you guys refresh too fast it’s locking it up and won’t let it update. So until it’s in place the system is down.

Please enjoy any of the other sites out there!

There is some unforeseeable downtime going on at the moment. We are working quickly to get it corrected and the server back up. Thanks!

Contacting Staff

Everyone needs to read this because it will start resulting in people no longer having the PRIVILEGE of using Infinity Bound if not followed.

DO NOT CONTACT -ANY- of INFINITY BOUND’S STAFF VIA INSTANT MESSENGER!!!

The correct way to contact the staff if plastered all over the site and allows for quicker responses, and appropriate responses, to you, the users.

Our staff is NOT PAID. This is NOT A BUSINESS. The staff is here for as much entertainment as the rest of you and being HARASSED via instant messengers is in no way entertaining, or enjoyable.

Now, if you want us to be completely accessible to you, I will turn this into a PAY ONLY site and then we will bend over backwards for your every little whim with smiles on our faces.

But I promise you, you cannot afford to pay for a staff of seven paid at 20/hour for customer support. Which is how much I make doing my entry level job of the exact same thing and I would not pay them -any less-.

So either enjoy what you get FOR FREE, or start coughing up some serious cash so that I can turn this into a profiting business and pay my employees.

If you know someone who is seeing this it means the IP address they are using has been blocked from the server.

Unfortunately due to some rather petty individuals hitting the server hard with spam and trying to access directories that they do not have permission to view we have been forced to start banning IP addresses that are coming up as proxy servers and/or come up in the database as ’spam’ robots.

For those of you using proxy servers we apologize for the inconvenience but to regain access to the site you will need to find a proxy server that isn’t linked to spamming, and/or use your real IP address.

If you have any concerns please contact the staff

We’re working on the server to get the e-mail and whatnot corrected. This may cause some downtime.  (Like right now)

Please enjoy the other great sites out there while we get this up and running again.

Gatewood is working quickly to see why the server is acting crazy after their system upgrades last week.   Thanks for your patience.

If you have any questions/concerns you can direct them to ibstaff@infinitybound.info and/or infinitybound@verizon.net

So, yah. I was trying to fix the e-mail error and was deleting old e-mails. I accidentally deleted an FTP user to the site who had access to the public_html folder.

Guess what happens when you do that?  It deletes EVERYTHING.

 DON’T PANIC!!!!!

We’re working to recover the files that were lost as I type this.

All questions/concerns should be sent to ibstaff@infinitybound.info

Errors & Fixes

AUTOLOGIN:

Currently unavailable to users until errors are fixed with it.

EMAIL:

Currently being looked into. If you have an infinitybound.net email address it stopped ‘receiving’ mail as of 8 AM 3/16.  You can send mail, you just don’t get anything back.

REPEATALOGIN:

This is most common among McAfee & Avast users.  It’s to do with them not allowing you to use session based cookies.  The first thing you need to check is the security setup you have and make sure you are allowed to use session based cookies.

Subject: Short Notice - Scheduled Maintenance

Gatewood Hosting System Message:

03/14/2008 08:45 PM
Tonight, Friday March 14, 2008, there is a planned outage between the hours of 11PM and 3AM Pacific Standard Time.

We apologize for the extremely short time period in which to be informed of this. We were only notified of this maintenance this evening.

The data center housing our servers is planning a maintenance procedure which will affect all of our customers for approximately 2 hours this evening. We have left an open window to accommodate any issues that may arise from their maintenance, which is why it is from 11PM to 3AM PST.

If you have any questions or comments about this, please don’t hesitate to e-mail us at support@gatewoodhosting.com. We appreciate your understanding and patience while this is taking place.

Sincerely,
The Gatewood Hosting Staff
